Things to Do in Lyttelton and Christchurch

"Harbour View" is just a 300m walk from from some of the best restaurants in Christchurch; Volcano Restaurant and Lava Bar, London Street Restaurant, The Monster Yakatori Bar, and Freemans Dining Room.

Three safe swimming beaches in the harbour, Corsair Bay, Cass Bay, and Rapaki are within 5 minutes drive. Just 7 minutes drive over the hill is Sumner Beach and even more fabulous restaurants, bars and shops.

For more active people there are lots of hill walks such as The Bridle Path over to Heathcote, the Crater Rim and Major Hornbrook track to name a few. All these tracks feature breathtaking views over the harbour or across the Canterbury plains to the Southern Alps.

Lyttelton Harbour View is well placed for snow skiing in the winter, as we are only 1 hour 30 minutes for Porters Heights Ski field and about 1 hour 45 minutes from Mount Hutt Ski feild.                                Transport to and from the Ski fields can be arranged for you

Guests can relax in the double spa bath after a great days skiing before hitting the bars and restaurants of Lyttelton or Christchurch.

You could also try out the Wildlife Cruises, Fishing, exploring Quail Island, the Torpedo Boat Museum or Vintage Steam Tug cruises. You could Swim with the Dolphins, visit the Maori Village and Settlers town in Ferrymead. Also at Ferrymead is the golf driving range and new 9 hole golf course, or maybe a round of golf at the beautiful Charteris Bay Golf course.

Maybe you would like to hire a surf board or wind surfer. Then again you may like to just stroll around the township admiring the quaint settlers cottages and other historical buildings.

Special Note
On weekends, public holidays and special events such as "Winters Festival of Lights", "The Arts Festival", "Jazz Festival" etc., Lyttelton is very busy. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you book early. During these busy periods there may be minimum stay requirements and/or additional charges.
